Fees
Uniform national dental fees.
The Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) has set uniform national dental fees. Every dentist in the Netherlands is obliged to charge the same fees.
How are the costs of a treatment charged?
The treatment is charged on the basis of a list of procedures drawn up by the NZa. A filling, for example, consists of several procedures: keeping the tooth dry, the anaesthetic and the filling material itself. The dentist may charge for the procedures he carries out. If, for example, an anaesthetic is given during the treatment, the dentist will charge for the procedure “anaesthetic”. A separate fee is charged for each procedure. The NZa has described these procedures precisely, so that the dentist can always charge you the correct procedure for the correct treatment.
Your invoice is clearer because all procedures are listed on it. You will also receive a cost estimate in advance if the treatment costs € 250 or more; from € 500 you will receive it in writing.
